Follow the old prospector

Chapter 69 is among the more active NAWCC chapters in Southern California. We hold regularly scheduled monthly meetings and annual marts.

Chapter 69 meetings feature:

  • A social hour from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. with refreshments
  • A business meeting
  • A "Beginner's Corner" mini-seminar
  • A full-length program
  • Show & Tell
  • And three door prizes!

Chapter 69 also has a monthly newsletter, and an extensive library of videos. We invite all NAWCC members and their guests to come to any of these events. (Programs subject to change.)

Jerry Kleeb will be giving the main presentation on the elements of a small European clock that appears to have been made in the first half of the 18th century. While not a carriage clock (it has a crown wheel escapement and small pendulum) it is of similar size. Among its unique aspects are its iron plates, its use of latches instead of tapered pins to secure the movement and an exterior that appears to have had a fire gilt finish.

Paul Martyn is planning to give a beginners corner on the repair of veneer clock cases.
